Hurry up spring
Its certainly been a while since I have made a post. It's not that nothing has happened in my life, I just figured this is a cycling blog and since I have ridden my bike a grand total of once over the past 5 months there hasn't been much to post. I probably had aspirations of riding during the winter but after my first test run, poorly dressed of course, I decided the bike would stay in the house. I focused on strength training the last couple of months. Needless to say I am much stronger but probably in all the wrong places. I have put quite a bit of muscle on my upper body and probably didn't do enough leg work. My cardio has been pretty awful all winter as well. So, I am currently about 20lbs heavier than I need to be to race so I got some work to do. Time to start stripping off all that hard earned muscle I packed on during the winter. One of these days I guess I should figure out whether I want to be a cyclist or a bodybuilder. These two sports don't seem to go hand in hand. Really, my overall goal is just general fitness and aesthetic so they actually do go hand in hand for me. I have no aspirations of 20" biceps or winning bike races. I just enjoy the workouts that hopefully prolong my imminent death. Regardless, time to kick it into high gear and trim off some of this winter fat.
